CAMBC Women's Rides Continue in 2008!
Last year's regular women's rides were such a success that we've brought
them back for 2008!
Women's rides are an opportunity for women who like to mountain bike to
do so with other women. No guys allowed! In a nurturing and supportive
environment, you can meet other women who like to ride and work on your
mountain bike skills or fitness level, too.
CAMBC women's rides are geared towards women who already have some
mountain bike experience, but just like to get out there and ride. This
does not mean you have to be fast to come out; we recommend only that if
you are a pure beginner, you try out CAMBC's
beginner rides first to gain the basic skills.
Women's ride leaders typically provide a comfortably paced environment
for riders of abilities ranging from advanced beginner and intermediate
all the way up to expert level. Conversation is encouraged. Rides
typically last from 60 to 120 minutes.
No formal instruction will be given during rides, but ride leaders will
provide tips as appropriate and be open for questions.
All riders are
REQUIRED to wear a helmet, bring plenty of water, and
bring a trail-ready bike. Close-fitting clothing that will not get
caught up in the bike's drive train are strongly recommended. Riders are
also expected to carry the usual basics: spare tube(s), a pump, tire
levers, a chain tool, and basic allen wrenches to facilitate the
inevitable, but basic trail-side repair.
All riders ride at their own risk and are responsible for deciding when
to dismount for sections of trail which are too difficult for them to
attempt.
In case of a large rider turn out, riders will be divided into smaller
groups according to level of experience so that everyone can have a good
time no matter what your skill level.
No rider will be left behind, a CAMBC promise!
